The inauguration of the New Heavy Equipment Engineering (TAB) major at SMK PGRI Geneng, Ngawi Regency, East Java Province, was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Dimas Aryo (CSR Section Head UT) and school representatives.

Jakarta, May 24, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) continues to consistently strive to improve the quality of education in Indonesia through Sekolah Binaan UT (SOBAT) program. This time, UT provided its support through the opening of a new Heavy Equipment Engineering (TAB) class at SMK PGRI 2 Geneng, Ngawi Regency, East Java Province. UT is providing this support because there is an increasing need for TAB competency in the region.

“It is hoped that opening a new class at SMK PGRI Geneng will open up opportunities for the younger generation to improve their skills in the TAB field and smooth their path to building their future careers. In addition, SMK PGRI is expected to be able to become the first school in Ngawi Regency to develop TAB,” said CSR Section Head Dimas Aryo Wicaksono.

The program’s execution included opening remarks from UT and SMK PGRI Geneng, followed by the inauguration of the TAB classroom and workshop on heavy equipment such as the steel canopy GD511a-1, Center Brush, and Appar 4kg. Through this workshop, SMK PGRI Geneng students were allowed to practice the various functions of the provided heavy equipment and were guided by teachers who had received training from UT. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a joint tumpeng by representatives of UT CSR and representatives of SMK PGRI Geneng marked the inauguration of the new major and classroom.

SMK PGRI Geneng has been part of SOBAT for five years, starting in 2019. However, before opening the TAB concentration class, the established collaboration only focused on several activities, including curriculum alignment, fulfillment of learning practice facilities, teacher certification training, application of industrial culture concepts, and industrial visit opportunities.

The inauguration was attended by the Headmaster of SMK PGRI Geneng, Ervina Vialia S.T. MM; Head of the Section (Kasi) SMK Branch of the Education Office (Dispen) Madiun Regency, Lamiran S.Pd., M.Pd.; Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Disnakertrans), Cukuprihadi, S.H.; Chairman of the Foundation for the Development of Educational Institutions (YPLP) Ngawi Regency, Hari Supriyono, S.Pd., M.Pd; UT Head Office (HO) CSR, Rizky Aditya Nugroho and Dimas Aryo Wicaksono; and UT Surabaya Branch CSR, Ego Bayu Armando, and Siman.

Through the opening of the new class, it is hoped that UT can positively impact the achievements and competencies of students in the TAB field and create a skilled young generation ready to enter the workforce and industry.
