Samarinda – November 23, 2021, located in the Grand Ballroom of Bumi Senyiur Hotel Samarinda, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) Samarinda Branch received the 2021 Kaltim Education Award (KEA) from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, through the East Kalimantan Education and Culture Department, after previously in 2020 UT Samarinda Branch received the first KEA award. KEA is an award for actors and activists in the world of education who are considered instrumental in advancing and bringing the good name of the region through the achievements earned. At KEA 2021, UT won an award with the category of Meritorious Company, as an appreciation to the industry that has been supporting educational activities in East Kalimantan area such as scholarships, student training, teacher training, practical equipment assistance, school facilities and infrastructure assistance, and others. This support is part of UT’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in Educational field, namely Sekolah Binaan UT (SOBAT), which focuses on fostering Vocational High Schools (SMK) majoring in heavy equipment engineering.
The KEA award was given by the Governor of East Kalimantan, represented by Mr. Ir. H. Muhammad Sa’bani, M. Sc, Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province, to Mr. Muhammad Bayu Seto, Administration Department Head (ADH), as the representative of the management of UT Samarinda Branch. The awards given in the KEA 2021 includes not only the fields of education, but also sports, arts, culture and religion field. There are 7 (seven) categories of KEA 2021 awards, the Press Category, Private Category, Mayor/Regent Category, Dedicated Teacher Category, High School/Vocational/SLB Level Students Category, Educator category/ Meritorious Teacher Category/ High School Achievement/ Vocational High School/SLB Category and Education Unit for SMA/ SMK/ SLB Category.
This appreciation reflects the evidence of a balance between business goals, environmental preservation and social awareness, by taking a role in advancing education wherever UT is, in order to create sustainability and contribution to the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG).
