Jakarta, July 9, 2024 – Reinforcing its commitment to supporting clean and sustainable energy, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) has obtained Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from PT National Electricity Company (PLN) across 27 branch offices and sites throughout Indonesia in 2023. The RECs have enabled UT to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) by 5,109 tonCO2eq.The RECs received by UT align with one of the company’s corporate transition strategies in the energy sector and are a step towards achieving Net Zero Emissions.
“One of UT’s corporate transition strategies in the energy sector is establishing a Renewable Energy (RE) business that aligns with the company’s strategy to develop environmentally friendly energy solutions. It is hoped that this initiative will contribute positively to environmental sustainability and provide added value to stakeholders,” said UT’s Head of Corporate Governance and Sustainability, Sara K. Loebis.
The REC handover was divided into two phases. The first phase occurred from January to June 2023 at 14 branch offices and 1 site, with 4,169 REC units obtained. These locations are spread across UT branches in Surabaya, Balikpapan, Semarang, Manado, Makassar, Samarinda, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jayapura, Banjarmasin, Bandar Lampung, Jambi, Palembang, and the UT Tanjung Enim Site.
