To increase understanding of disaster preparedness in the school environment, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), through its CSR program in the field of disasters response (UTACTION), held the United Tractors Disaster Resilient School (SOBAT Tangguh) program at SMKN 36 Jakarta on (22/ 09/2023).
In the SOBAT Tangguh program, UT formed a Disaster Preparedness team to help students know the information and have the competencies needed to prevent and deal with disasters appropriately. The formation of this disaster preparedness team is a continuation of the disaster risk mapping activity at SMKN 36 Jakarta, which was carried out on (23/08/2023). The formation of the disaster preparedness team includes ten teachers and 22 students from various departments.
This program was carried out due to potential disasters in the DKI Jakarta area, such as floods, fires, and earthquakes. UT is committed to consistently providing disaster education to prepare, prevent, and handle disaster emergencies. “The SOBAT Tangguh program is a concrete manifestation of UT’s concern for school students around the Company’s operational areas. UT is conducting this program as a form of commitment to continue and strengthen the implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in order to provide a wider positive impact,” said Himawan Sutanto (UT CSR Manager).
Through this activity, it is hoped to result in disaster-resilient students who can minimize the occurrence of disasters in their respective areas.
