PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) continues demonstrating its commitment to supporting the development of vocational education in Indonesia through the United Tractors Assisted School (SOBAT) program. This time, UT organizes a workshop and Monitor the teaching factory for 10 vocational schools of excellence (PK) across Indonesia. These 10 schools include SMKN 1 Ngawen, SMK Bina Bangsa Dampit, SMK Negeri (SMKN) 1 Satui, SMKN 3 Sendawar, SMK Nusantara Mandiri Bontang, SMK Kristen Tagari Rantepao, SMK Kristen Harapan Rantepao, SMKN 3 North Toraja, SMK Andika Mebali, and SMK Harapan Teknologi Rekayasa Mimika.

“Through implementing the Teaching Factory (TeFa) learning method, with 70% contextual practice and 30% theory, students are equipped with skills that align with industry needs. It is hoped that this method will provide real benefits for students by building relevant competencies that can be applied in the workforce,” said UT’s Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Himawan Sutanto.

TeFa is a concrete manifestation of the Company’s commitment to supporting the development of vocational education in Indonesia. Through the SOBAT program, the Company consistently builds synergy between industry and education to improve vocational students’ skills and readiness to compete in the job market.

The strengthening of TeFa in these schools is focused on providing students with direct work experience through practice-based learning. Additionally, this program includes the presence of Guest Teachers from the industry, allowing students to gain insights and direct learning from experienced professionals. This initiative is designed to equip students with relevant skills, preparing them optimally before entering the workforce.

Various stakeholders supporting the strengthening of vocational education attended the event, including representatives from the Regional Education and Culture Office, the Department of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertrans), and the Department of Education and Culture (Disdikbud). This aims to foster a mix-and-match approach between education and industry for students in each participating school.

This activity is part of UT’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in the education sector (UTFUTURE). Through strong synergy between industry and education, UT hopes the SOBAT program can serve as a model for better vocational education development in Indonesia and help shape a younger generation ready to compete in the global job market.
