United Tractors and the Indonesia Ministry of Education & Culture Prepare a Competitive Generation through the 2022 National Student Competency Competition (LKS)

Bandung, October 28th, 2022 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudrisek RI) by organized the 2022 Student Competency Competition (LKS) for national level. This collaboration aims to support vocational students to improve their competence in the heavy equipment sector to prepare qualified young people who are ready to enter workforce and industry, as well as improve entrepreneurial skills to reduce unemployment in Indonesia.

This competition is the Company’s effort in realizing sustainability through the CSR program (UTFUTURE) by implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects. In practice, this competition conducted online by vocational students from 34 provinces in Indonesia, starting from October 24-28 2022. The winner of this competition is based on an assessment by a jury from UT consisting of Robi Tubagus Yuni, Djoko Sujono, and Joni Darling Sembiring.

“This collaboration is carried out as a form of UT’s commitment to carry out sustainable business practices, by delivering positive contribution to improve competence qualify in the field of education. UT hopes that, through this competition, in the future, it can create a superior generation that is ready to compete in the business and industrial world,” said Sara K. Loebis, Head of the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Division.

National Student Competency Competition (LKS) was first held in 1992 in Malang in various fields of competition. This competition has been held 30 times, but until 2021 there were no Heavy Equipment Engineering competition. As a company engaged in heavy equipment, UT becomes a pioneer in carrying out Heavy Equipment Engineering competitions. In addition, UT also serves as the main sponsor of LKS as an effort to fully support the competition which is held once a year

This activity is a form of the Company’s contribution to the Indonesian people and promotes innovation as inherent culture in business. Through this competition, UT also encourages and implements President Joko Widodo’s directives regarding the achievement of the 2045 vision through economic transformation supported by industrial downstream by building dynamic, productive, and skilled human resources (HR), experienced in science and technology that are supported by industry collaboration and global talent.

Through this collaboration, UT hopes to provide a platform for realizing the creative ideas of SMK students and can also have a positive impact on improving the achievements and competencies of SMK students, creating highly competitive, innovative, and resilient human resources.
