Jakarta, August 5th, 2022. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the East Jakarta City Government inaugurated the renovation of a Green Open Space (Ruang Terbuka Hijau/RTH) named Taman United Tractors in the East Flood Canal (Banjir Kanal Timur/BKT), Duren Sawit Village, East Jakarta.
The 1,425-square meter park is the result of the revitalization conducted by United Tractors, in collaboration with the East Jakarta administration. This inauguration aligns with United Tractors’ commitment to preserving the environment, in accordance with the company’s ESG principles and implementation.
United Tractors CSR & Communication Manager, Himawan Sutanto, emphasized that the company’s implementation of ESG to create a better future for the environment and society does not only take place around the operational area but also in many other areas, including BKT.
“In line with the ESG principles, we, as a company, support all central and regional government policies to reduce carbon emissions, one of which is by increasing green open space in numerous areas,” said Himawan Sutanto.
In addition to the handover ceremony of Taman United Tractors to the East Jakarta City Government, the Company also symbolically handed over the aid of basic necessities and work equipment to 30 people, namely 20 representatives from the Public Infrastructure and Facilities Management team (PPSU), five representatives from PAUD teachers and five representatives from RW 02 Duren Sawit Village.
“I express my gratitude and respect to United Tractors for the assistance that has been given since 2012. Hopefully, this collaboration can continue, and I urge the entire community to take care of this park together”, said Deputy Mayor H. Hendra Hidayat in his speech.
This activity was attended by H. Hendra Hidayat, the Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta; Ali Siregar, the Secretary of Cakung Subdistrict; Santi, the Head of West Cakung Village; Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (Penanganan Prasarana dan Sarana Umum/PPSU) team: Himawan Sutanto, United Tractors CSR Manager, and United Tractors CSR team.
United Tractors is continuously committed to give back to the community and build a better society in Indonesia. The company hopes that, with the implementation of this activity, all parties can collaborate to jointly maintain the green open space facilities, in particular in the East Jakarta area.
Based on information on Green Open Spaces of DKI Jakarta Province, currently DKI Jakarta province has 33,325,978,057 M2 of total green open space, and 8,735,044,373 M2 in the East Jakarta area, with a comparison value of the total area of Jakarta, which is 1.358%. In line with Law No. 26 of 2007 regarding Spatial Planning, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta continues to build green open spaces (RTH) in several areas, one of which is in East Jakarta, located at the East Flood Canal under the name Taman United Tractors.
