Tegal, February 4th,2023 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) through the UT Foster School (SOBAT) program held a Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) for the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) at Adiwerna 1 Public Vocational School, Tegal Regency, Central Java, on Saturday (04/02). The SOBAT coordination meeting collaborated with stakeholders in other education spheres; the Education and Culture Office of Central Java Province and other UT’s fostered schools.
UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto, emphasized that the SOBAT coordination meeting served as a significant momentum for UT and all education stakeholders involved in synergizing SOBAT 2023 programs with the target of improving the quality of education for students of UT’s foster school. This coordination meeting was also a forum for UT to further explore the potential of the fostered students through several programs prepared this year.
“The SOBAT Area Coordination Meeting in the Central Java-DIY Area is an effort carried out by UT with the local government to create a program that can produce expert graduates in their field and also to build a good reputation for the school in the hope of becoming the region’s favorite school. UT will consistently continue to carry out such collaborations to ensure maximum contribution to SOBAT programs throughout Indonesia,” said Himawan Sutanto.
The 3-day SOBAT 2023 coordination meeting was held starting from February 2, 2023, and was not only attended by UT, local governments, and education staff, but also by students of Heavy Equipment Engineering (TAB) from 28 UT fostered school. The coordination meeting was opened by the Head of the XII Regional Educational and Culture of the Province of Central Java, Sulikhin, MPd.
Apart from synergizing the program, the SOBAT 2023 coordination meeting participants also took part in the ‘Tour de School’ at Adiwerna 1 Public Vocational School, UT’s foster school crowned ASEAN Eco School. During the tour of the school’s environment, participants obtained new insights into sustainable school management, due to one of the school’s sustainable programs, the Waste Sorting Education Center (TEPS).
On the third day, participants evaluated and finalized the composition of SOBAT grand plan for 2023, and the coordination meeting was closed with the joint signing of SOBAT UT Central Java-DIY commitment for 2023. The SOBAT 2023 grand plan guides all educational stakeholders and UT’s foster schools in implementing programs throughout 2023. Through this activity, UT hopes that all of its UT foster schools can increase capacity, be more resilient, and positively impact the surrounding area.
SOBAT is UT’s sustainability initiative program, part of UT’s education CSR pillar, United Tractors for Education and Bright Future (UTFUTURE). SOBAT has currently fostered 1,614 schools throughout Indonesia. This sustainability program aims to provide access to and improve the quality of equal education.
This contribution proves UT’s commitment to strengthening its sustainability position and implementing the Company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles to create added value and nurture young Indonesians to be more talented, competitive, and independent youth.
