The signing of a collaboration agreement between United Tractors and the National Achievement Center at the Kick-Off event for the WorldSkills Competition 2024.
Jakarta, June 18, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), once again, demonstrates its commitment to advancing education in Indonesia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) on June 10, 2024. Collaboration between UT and Puspresnas includes support in preparation and training for delegates in the Heavy Vehicle Equipment competition at the WorldSkills Competition (WSC) 2024. The peak of the WSC will be held on September 10-15, 2024, in Lyon, France. The MoU was signed directly by UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto, together with the Head of Puspresnas, Maria Veronica Herdjiono, in Jakarta.
“The collaboration is a real manifestation of UT’s commitment to supporting the development of quality Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia. We hope that through this support, the participants can improve their competencies so that they can later bring the name of Indonesia to the international arena and achieve brilliant achievements,” said Himawan Sutanto.
Heavy Vehicle Equipment is the first competition field to be followed by Indonesian delegates in this competition. In this collaboration, UT also supports the improvement of the skills of the Indonesian delegation through training guided by representatives of the Training Center & Expert, Joni Darling Sembiring, for approximately 8 months, from February to August 2024. The training is in the form of guidance on all heavy equipment units located at UT School, a vocational education institution for mechanics and heavy equipment operators under the Yayasan Karya Bakti UT (YKBUT). The participant who will compete in the WSC this year is Reza Mahendra, a student winner of the Student Skills Competition (LKS) 2022 and a graduate of SMKN 1 Semarang.
It is hoped that the support provided by UT and Puspresnas in the WSC will allow the younger generation of Indonesia to build their future careers.
For additional information, WSC is the largest international skills competition held every two years under the auspices of WorldSkills International. WSC is a competition that shows the excellence of each vocational skill through the innovations created and to improve vocational training standards that will be useful for students to face the world of work.
