Jakarta, August 13, 2024 – For its commitment to developing the fostered village community, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) and PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA) win the Climate Village Program (ProKlim) award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia (KLHK RI). In this event, UT, through the Fostered Village (UniTy Village) in Tegalsari Hamlet and Segundu Hamlet, Sumbergondo Village, win the Main ProKlim in the Certificate and Trophy category. In addition, PAMA is also awarded as a ProKlim Supporting Company by PAMA Site KPC and PAMA Site Kideco. The award is presented in person at the Festival Like 2 event at the Jakarta Convention Center (09/08/2024).

“Proklim is part of Indonesia’s commitment and contribution to efforts to control global climate change, especially the role of non-party stakeholders. In this regard, we give this award as a sign of appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all parties who have actively contributed to realizing a sustainable climate village,” said the Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK), Siti Nurbaya.

The assessment indicators for this ProKlim award are adaptation, mitigation, and institutional aspects. The UT program that won this award is the Independent Waste Management Program, which includes a Waste Bank, Composter, Waste Development, and Maggot Cultivation. As a result, Desa Sumbergondo has not contributed any waste to the Batu City landfill since 2019. “The award we received is an appreciation for all parties participating in this program. In this program, the development and guidance carried out are always adjusted to the characteristics of each region so that they suit the needs of the community. ProKlim is an implementation of the Company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, which are expected to support the strengthening of community capacity in facing the challenges of climate change,” said UT Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Himawan Sutanto.

The Proklim Award received by the UT Group proves the company’s commitment to preserving the earth’s future by addressing various sustainability challenges.
