PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, UT Inspiring Youth, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the potential of the nation’s youth. This time, UT partnered with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Youth and Sports Department (Dispora) to support training disabled football athletes who are members of the Special Olympics Indonesia (SOIna) Jakarta Branch. This activity aims to develop the skills, mentality, and physicality of the athletes competing at the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 15-20 July 2024.

“We recognize that every child of this nation, regardless of their background or limitations, has immense potential to achieve and contribute to the country. Therefore, we are very proud to be able to support SOIna athletes by giving them equal opportunities for resources and the chance to excel at the international level,” said UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto.

In its implementation, 1,911 teams from 72 countries participated in this event. Additionally, this year, there was a particular category for athletes with intellectual disabilities to compete in football. The SOIna team, supported by UT, consisted of nine athletes and three coaches in this competition. By winning matches in the group stage, the Indonesian team achieved a total of three victories against the Estonian team with a score of 6-1, FIFH Malmö with a score of 3-0, SKF France with a score of 5-1, and one loss against Turkmenistan with a score of 6-2. Furthermore, the Indonesian team advanced to the final and won first place at the Gothia Special Olympics Trophy by defeating the Turkmenistan team with a score of 2-1.

Through this achievement, UT remains consistent in implementing programs that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles and actively contribute to developing the potential of Indonesia’s younger generation. This aligns with UT’s commitment to consistently contribute positively to Indonesian society.
