Jakarta, August 6, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), through the UT Karya Bakti Foundation (YKBUT), known as UT School, holds a simultaneous graduation ceremony for Batch 33 across Indonesia. The graduation is in a hybrid format, with 18 online learning locations (LC) and the Grand Ballroom of the UT Head Office, Jakarta. This year’s graduation theme is “The Effectiveness of UT School in Educating the Nation’s Young Generation with INSANi Character and International Insight.” This event was held as a form of appreciation and motivation for students to work and a sense of pride for graduates who have completed their studies.

Human Capital & Sustainability Director UT Edhie Sarwono stated that UT School will continue to strive to provide the best education for Indonesian children to build a sustainable supply of quality human resources. This is a form of the company’s implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects.

“This graduation proves that UT School is deeply committed to developing education in Indonesia. The UT School program also aims to produce quality graduates with balanced cognitive and mental skills that meet the business world’s and industry’s needs. Through the programs implemented by UT School, it is hoped that national economic growth can be increased, contributing to Indonesia’s progress,” said Edhie Sarwono.

During this year’s graduation, 316 mechanics graduate successfully from UT School. The UT School program is intended to be comprehensive, catering to the needs of the Business and Industry Worlds (DUDI). All graduates have undergone competency certification with the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Professional Certification Institute (LSP ABI), ensuring that UT School alumni are proficient in handling heavy equipment.

This event is also a source of pride for UT School because it can help to develop the intelligence of Indonesia’s younger generation. UT School graduates have numerous employment opportunities both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, the top UT School graduates can continue their education in college through a scholarship program at Astra Tech.

Currently, the UT School has graduated 38,567 students. These graduates have worked for UT Group companies, UT customers, and various heavy equipment industry companies. In addition, the alums also have the opportunity to improve their competencies and work abroad. A total of 59 alums have successfully participated in Technical Internship Training at 23 UD Trucks dealer locations in Japan, 4 UT School alumni have been accepted to work at Isuzu Japan, and 40 alumni work at Tadano Japan.

“I hope that the UT School National Graduation can be the right momentum for us to continue to work and expand the benefits in educating the young generation of Indonesia. In addition, I hope that UT School alumni will be more involved in the mining and heavy equipment industries, both domestically and internationally,” said UT School Director Mochamad Hamdan Aziz. 

It is hoped that the graduates can become skilled graduates and implement the INSANi character when entering the workforce. This graduation proves UT’s commitment to improving the quality of vocational education in Indonesia. This aligns with UT’s commitment to contributing to the welfare and sustainability of Indonesian society in all of its operating areas. With the spirit of continuing to contribute to the world of education, UT School is determined to produce the next generation of qualified nation-builders ready to face the challenges in the world of work.
