Following its success in reducing stunting rates by 28% in 2023, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating stunting through a collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This commitment is demonstrated by the launch of the 2024 Transforming Undernutrition to Thriving and Sustainable (TUNTAS) program. UT’s initiative aims to eliminate and prevent stunting in East Jakarta by involving various stakeholders, including healthcare practitioners, Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), Posyandu cadres, and the general public. The program’s kick-off event was held at the Al-Furqaan Mosque, UT Head Office, Jakarta, on August 6, 2024.

“We believe that addressing stunting requires a holistic approach that considers various aspects and the cooperation of multiple stakeholders. Therefore, we hope this collaboration can help prevent increased stunting cases and improve public health,” said UT’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager Himawan Sutanto.

In its implementation, there were health screening activities and particular nutritional interventions for 51 toddlers who were malnourished, undernourished, and underweight who lived in the Rawa Terate, Cakung Barat, and Penggilingan areas. Then, there was also a presentation of material on stunting by a pediatrician, dr. Nur Melani Sari, Sp.A. M.Kes. Furthermore, this program will be continued with the assistance of four local cadres and four Srikandi Lestari program cadres, who will carry out a 24-week monitoring process that includes home visits, the distribution of pocket nutrition books, and the provision of additional food in the form of shredded meat, milk, vitamins, and cutlery.

Srikandi Lestari is UT’s CSR program in the health sector, UT for Community Health Responsibility (UTCARE), which aims to increase the capacity of Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) cadres to become more skilled, educational, and inspiring Posyandu facilitators. A total of 85 selected Posyandu cadres attended training sessions related to Posyandu management, baby and toddler services, pregnant and breastfeeding services, school-age and adolescent services, and adult and elderly services. Furthermore, Srikandi Lestari cadres will train other cadres around the Posyandu. Srikandi Lestari’s position is an extension of health workers who are essential in improving family health because they are considered capable of reaching the community.

This program can positively impact the community by making them more concerned about the problem of malnutrition and preventing the younger generation of Indonesia from stunting. This aligns with UT’s commitment to positively contributing to the welfare and sustainability of Indonesian society in all its operational areas.
