Jakarta, October 1st, 2022 – MSMEs assisted by United Tractors (UT), namely De Batavia and Recycle Academy participated in the Kehati Expo 2022 organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). De Batavia is a fostered MSME that offers Betawi food and beverages, while Recycle Academy recycles waste into artwork. This exhibition was held at Banteng Square, Central Jakarta on October 1-16, 2022

MSMEs development is part of UT Growth (United Tractors for Generating Opportunities and Wealth) program that focuses on the Company’s effort in creating sustainability for the community. The purpose of this program is to improve and develop the competence of SMEs from the aspect of human resources and products in order to grow and become independent. This is in line with United Tractors’ commitment to provide positive social impacts through ESG (Enviromental, Social, Governance) implementation.

The Director of Utilization of Environmental Services for Forest Conservation Areas at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Nandang Prihadi, emphasized that this event was momentum to intensify visits to conservation areas in line with economic recovery after the pandemic. “Kehati Expo 2022 is expected to foster public enthusiasm for conservation so that it remains sustainable and facilitate economic recovery after a pandemic,” said Nandang Prihadi.

In addition to participating in the exhibition, the Recycle Academy received an award from the Ciliwung Community on the opening night of the 2022 Kehati Expo in Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta. This award was given to Mr. Surani as founder and owner of Recycle Academy for his dedication in recycling waste into artworks with high selling value.

This activity was attended by 1,000 MSMEs offering a variety of products such as traditional snacks, health drinks, handicrafts, recycled products, and urban farming. At this exhibition, De Batavia sells a variety of Betawi foods and drinks, such as pletok beer powder, fruit drinks, and traditional cookies cakes. Meanwhile, Recycle Academy exhibited several recycled works such as artificial flowers made from fish scales, as well as paintings made from old tires and styrofoam.

Also attending were representatives from United Tractors, namely Social Responsibility Communication (SRCOM) staff, Handi Firawan; The KLHK representative, Prof. Dr. Yudistira Siahaan, M.A.; and the Director for Utilization of Forest Environmental Services in the KLHK Conservation Area, Nandang Prihadi. Through this event, the MSMEs assisted by United Tractors are expected to be able to increase their income, as part of post-pandemic economic recovery.
