Jakarta, July 4, 2023 – As a concrete step in protecting the environment, PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP Mining) has invested in 15 Komatsu HB365-1 Hybrid Excavators from PT United Tractors Tbk (UT). The symbolic handover of the product was carried out by UT Director, Loudy Irwanto Ellias and UT Director, Widjaja Kartika, to KPP Mining President Director, Rapinis Mutiara with the tagline “Advancing Value-Creation Partnership for Sustainable Development,” which was placed at UT Head Office, Jakarta.

The investment of 15 Komatsu HB365-1 Hybrid Excavators is a real step toward KPP Mining’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions in its operations as a mining contractor. The 15 units will be applied to the nickel mineral mine of PT Stargate Pasific Resourced (SPR) in Konawe Utara, Southeast Sulawesi.

The Komatsu HB365-1 Hybrid Excavator product uses hybrid components that are more durable and reliable in utilizing electrical energy. This product can produce powerful performance and help reduce emission footprints by up to 13 kg/hour, as well as save fuel consumption by up to 17% compared to non-hybrid excavator models.

Rapinis Mutiara, in his speech, said that the use of the Komatsu HB365-1 Hybrid Excavator unit is a form of KPP Mining’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues, especially in the context of reducing carbon emissions through the use of new and renewable energy.

“We are very hopeful that these 15 Komatsu HB365-1 Hybrid Excavators can support KPP Mining’s efforts to provide the best service in the mining contractor line in Indonesia with a commitment to implementing sustainable energy. Later, we will use these units for our project site in Konawe Utara, Southeast Sulawesi, which is a business diversification from KPP Mining,” said Rapinis Mutiara.

KPP consistently in its efforts to use products that support sustainability. Previously, KPP has played a role in the use of sustainable energy through forklift batteries. In the future, KPP will continue to strive for the use of new and renewable energy as a form of commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

As the exclusive distributor of Komatsu in Indonesia, UT expressed its appreciation to KPP Mining for the cooperation that has been established. One of them is through the presence of the HB365-1, namely the first 30-ton class hybrid excavator in Indonesia.
