As a commitment to creating a more inclusive and disaster-responsive environment, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), in collaboration with Special Olympics Indonesia (SOIna) DKI Jakarta, is organizing a Grand Disaster Preparedness Simulation. This event, attended by 200 disabled athletes, 21 coaches, and volunteers, aims to enhance their readiness for emergency disaster situations. It takes place on February 22, 2024, at Rawamangun Athletics Stadium, Jakarta.
United Tractors’ Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Himawan Sutanto, emphasizes the importance of disaster preparedness in creating a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone, including the disabled community. He states, “Disaster preparedness is not just the responsibility of one party, but a collective concern. Through this program, we hope to raise awareness and preparedness among the disabled community in facing disasters while encouraging more parties to get involved in risk mitigation efforts.”
This activity culminates in a disaster resilience training program on February 2, 2025. The program provides education and training to SOIna DKI Jakarta’s coaches and volunteers. It features expert teams from PREDIKT, who offer technical briefings on evacuation procedures, designated safe assembly points, and mitigation measures tailored to the needs of the disabled community.
The Head of Reconstruction and Rehabilitation at BPBD DKI Jakarta, Budi Hartati, also delivers a speech guiding the importance of disaster awareness and preparedness in training environments and daily life.
As part of its support for enhancing the capacity of the disabled community, United Tractors also donates First Aid Kits (P3K) to SOIna. This assistance proves helpful in emergencies and supports the daily training activities of disabled athletes.
During the simulation, participants undergo various emergency scenarios, including evacuation processes to designated assembly points and implementing emergency response procedures they have previously learned. All stages are carried out effectively with guidance from coaches and volunteers, strengthening the athletes’ understanding of disaster preparedness.
Through this initiative, United Tractors not only demonstrates its concern for the disabled community but also contributes to raising disaster preparedness awareness among all parties. This initiative inspires more companies and communities to build an inclusive, disaster-resilient environment.
