United Tractors Tbk (UT) has once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing education for the younger generation in Indonesia. As a result of its consistency, UT won the Partnership Award during the 60th Anniversary of the University of Indonesia Faculty of Engineering (FTUI) in 2024. UT received two awards in the Continuing Education and Industry Immersion categories in this event. These awards were given in recognition of UT’s active contribution to facilitating students’ direct experience of the industrial world through student internship programs, industrial visits, and professional engineer certification programs. The award was presented directly to UT’s Corporate University (Corpu) Rector, Ahmad Anwari, at FTUI, Depok on August 26, 2024.
“We believe that many great works have been accomplished and have benefited the nation through interdisciplinary engineering and close collaboration between the academic and industrial worlds. Many benefits and innovations from FTUI have proven to add value to UT. We hope that this collaboration can be further strengthened to meet the increasingly complex needs of the future,” said UT’s Director of Human Capital & Sustainability, Edhie Sarwono.
The assessment indicators in the Continuing Education category showed that UT is a company committed to improving the quality of human resources to meet academic standards. This is evidenced by the standardization of competencies of specialist employees through the Professional Engineer Education certification program. This certification program is taken through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway, which specialist employees from Product Reliability & Technical Support Engineering, Product Application Engineering, and Parts Supply Chain Optimization Engineering follow.
Furthermore, the assessment indicators in the Industry Immersion category were assessed based on the contribution of industrial partners in realizing the link and match between the academic and industrial worlds. The program carried out by UT in this category is the Industrial Visit and Education program related to heavy equipment at the Company, as well as the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) internship program under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
UT will continue to strive to improve the quality of existing programs and develop new innovative programs by implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Hopefully, this program will help more young people develop competencies that align with industry needs. This aligns with UT’s commitment to contributing to the welfare and sustainability of Indonesian society in all its operating areas.
