Jakarta, July 31st, 2022 – DKI Jakarta is one of the provinces in Indonesia that is prone to disasters. Based on data and information from the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), as of June 2022, there had been 17 flood cases and 45 fire cases. Responding to the situation, United Tractors (UT) held a Disaster Simulation activity for the ring 1 operational area in Cakung Barat Village, Cakung District.
The disaster simulation activity is one of the UT Disaster CSR program activities, in collaboration with the Tangguh Jaya Village program, initiated by UT Security Department. Flood and fire disasters simulations were the ones carried out, considering that the first ring area of UT HO is prone to those two disasters.
The purpose of this activity is to provide education related to disasters so that the community gains independent ability to be more prepared for facing potential disaster threats, increase the ability to adapt in the midst of disasters and be able to immediately respond to the adverse effects of disasters.
In this event, UT collaborated with the DKI Jakarta BPBD, the East Jakarta Fire Department, and the Human Initiative. This activity was attended by 58 participants consisting of school students and residents of RW 09, Cakung Barat Village.
“This disaster simulation will become a routine activity carried out by UT in order to support disaster-resilient communities and villages, as well as becoming a momentum for all of us to be more aware of the disaster vulnerability in our environment,” said CSR Manager United Tractors, Himawan Sutanto.
In line with the implementation of Environment, Social, dan Governance (ESG) aspects in the company, UT continues its commitment to give the best contribution to improve the quality of human resources and help the surrounding community, especially in the disaster aspect.
