Lombok, March 7th,2023 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) continues to support economic empowerment for communities in various ways. One of the efforts is through the MSMEs mentoring program to bring out their economic value and uniqueness so that they can compete locally and internationally. This time, UT assisted Kopi Leong, an MSME, to continue introducing its products to the public through the 2023 Mandalika Pesona Pujut Festival in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) last Saturday (11/02).

This festival was organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) and joined by several local MSMEs with their respective unique selling points, including Kopi Leong from North Lombok, NTB. Kopi Leong is unique, with the best taste of the Robusta coffee specialty of Lombok, this coffee is often called Berik coffee.

The Indonesian Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, attended the festival, and after tasting Kopi Leong’s products, she shared her inputs on how Kopi Leong could further develop the MSME; she also added that support from all stakeholders is needed for regional MSMEs to progress and develop competencies that will enable them to compete. On a bigger scale the provision of Vocational Training Centers (BLK) is one example of the support provided by the government.

“It is important for all stakeholders in North Lombok Regency to improve their competencies by utilizing all facilities provided. The idea is to produce good quality human capitals, so that later they are not only able to work professionally, they also can create jobs in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), especially in North Lombok Regency,” said Ida Fauziyah.

In line with the government’s objectives, UT still sees many MSMEs needing help to compete in the market. Hence, UT is present through programs in the economic empowerment sector with UTGROWTH (United Tractors for Generating Opportunities and Wealth) to provide support for Kopi Leong to strengthen their promotion and marketing aspects, human capital, and business management, involvement in various competitions and festivals,  while expanding relations and accelerate business development.

UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto, explained that besides Kopi Leong, UT had fostered more than 53 MSMEs across Indonesia. This is UT’s commitment in running a sustainable business and creating jobs, and increasing added value for society.

“UT’s mentoring program for Kopi Leong is part of our concrete manifestation in making positive contributions to the community and society. In line with the Company’s Triple-P Roadmap, Portfolio, People and Public Contribution Roadmap, we aim to provide full support to help create a prosperous society,” said Himawan Sutanto.

UT is committed to support all of its fostered MSMEs, including Kopi Leong, by delivering consistent mentoring to increase and develop Kopi Leong’s potential. This is a form of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles implementation in each of UT’s business operations.
