Bandung – August 15th,2022 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) collaborated with the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) and PT Astra International Tbk (ASTRA), conducting various activities to help increasing adolescent awareness on the importance of health, in commemoration of the National Children’s Day on July 23 and the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17.
Under the health CSR program of United Tractors or UTCARE, UT Youth Movement together with BKKBN and ASTRA held a webinar titled “National Adolescent Health and Reproductive Health Counseling for High Risk Groups”. The objective of those activities is to increase the awareness and knowledge of juvenile reproduction health, in line with the mission to reduce the prevalence of stunting and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia.
“Young generation is the key to change the nation, and they are contributing to the revolution of health. Through activities of increasing self-awareness to being able to take actions, UT, ASTRA and the government work hand to hand to answer the health challenges in Indonesia.” said UT Social Responsibility and Communication Department Head, Himawan Sutanto.
More than 1,800 Indonesian youth attended the National Adolescent Health Webinar which took place in a hybrid format. All participants took part in this activity through various platforms such as Zoom and Youtube, or physically present at the Prime Park Hotel, Bandung. In this webinar, participants received material from the experts related to the importance of reproductive organ health, nutrition, as well as mental and physical health for adolescents in preventing stunting and reducing MMR.
In addition to the Webinar, the collaboration between UT, ASTRA and BKKBN also took place at the Class II Children’s Special Guidance Institute (LPKA) Bandung. The High-Risk Group, which in this case is the Children in Conflict with the Law (ABH) group, participated in the Reproductive Health Counseling with high enthusiasm. A total of 120 male teenagers under LPKA Class II Bandung were being educated on reproductive health through games, discussions, protein supplement distribution and health screening for their mental health as well as nutritional status.
This event was also attended by: Head of BKKBN, Dr.(H.C.) dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG(K); Deputy for Family Planning and Reproductive Health BKKBN, dr. Eni Gustina, MPH; PLT Head of Class II LPKA Bandung, Indri Apriyanty; Coordinator of KBKR BKKBN West Java Province, Ir. Pintauli Siregar, MM; Director of Synergi Medical Health Services & Consultant dr. Dani Ferdian, M.K.M., Sp.KKLP; UT’s CSR Team Leader for Health who also represented ASTRA, Meyta Hutapea; as well as a number of health experts namely dr. Windi Nurdiawan SpOG., Subps. Obginsos (K)., M.Kes; dr. Shiela Stefani, Sp.GK; and Linda Ernawati, M.Ps (Psychologist).
The collaboration is also supported by the healthy youth community built by the UT Youth Movement, AORTA (ASTRA) and Genre (BKKBN) that involved as committee and facilitator.
