Jakarta, August 14, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), through its educational institution for mechanics and heavy equipment operators under the Yayasan Karya Bakti UT (YKBUT), namely UT School, has once again demonstrated its positive contribution by participating in the Pre-Employment program and the National Seminar and Talk Show. Since 2023, UT School has officially become a government partner in the Pre-Employment program by establishing an offline Basic Maintenance class for Heavy Equipment, specifically bulldozers and excavators, at UT School in Cakung, Jakarta.

“UT School’s participation in the Pre-Employment program is one of UT’s efforts to fulfill its social responsibility to support community skill development through collaboration in government programs. We hope that through this participation, we can provide a forum for the younger generation to acquire skills relevant to the needs of the workplace,” said Syaifudin Zuhri, Deputy Director of Service Development at UT School.

Furthermore, in 2024, UT School will hold a Pre-Employment training program again in collaboration with the PINTAR Digital Platform regarding the Basic Maintenance of Heavy Equipment modules in several locations, including Pekanbaru, Jakarta, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Samarinda, and Ujung Pandang. The implementation in the Jakarta area will be carried out in 4 working days from May 29 – June 3, 2024, using a curriculum designed specifically for people unfamiliar with heavy equipment.

In addition, UT School also made a positive contribution by becoming a speaker in a national seminar and talk show with the theme Modern Agriculture: Seizing Opportunities in the Indonesian Agricultural Machinery Market. This seminar was organized by Agnia, an agribusiness publication media, and PRISMA (The Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Incomes through Support for Markets in Agriculture) on March 3, 2024, at the Oakwood Hotel Taman Mini, Jakarta.

In its implementation, the seminar and talk shows were attended by 100 participants from representatives of agricultural equipment and machinery (Alsintan) companies, associations, and farmers. This webinar aims to introduce the potential of more inclusive agricultural mechanisms in supporting sustainable modern farming practices to help small farmers increase their income and ensure the realization of national food security.

“The role of agricultural mechanization is critical in supporting sustainable modern agricultural practices and realizing food self-sufficiency. Therefore, efforts are needed to make agricultural mechanization more inclusive for small-scale farmers,” said the former Minister of Agriculture 2000 – 2004 and Chairman of the Agrina Editorial Board, Bungaran Saragih.

In the implementation of this seminar, there was also a talk show with the theme “The Vital Role of Funding Options and After-Sales Services in the Alsintan Market” presented by Syaifudin Zuhri, who emphasized the importance of heavy equipment management in Alsintan to avoid losses or suboptimal heavy equipment performance.

“The heavy equipment management framework is divided into three categories: equipment selection management (selecting), equipment application and production management (using), and maintenance and spare parts management (maintaining). The three managements aim to be equipment efficiency, equipment productivity, operating costs, equipment availability, and repair costs,” he said.

Since many farmers in the field still have limited access to knowledge, technology, and capital, this seminar emphasized the importance of implementing agricultural mechanisms suitable for national needs. Therefore, support from various stakeholders, including the government, producers, agricultural machinery distributors, training institutions, and financing institutions, is necessary.

In this seminar, UT School showcased several flagship products at the exhibition booth provided by the committee. It is hoped that these various contributions can serve as a promotional platform for UT School to a broader audience, both for the general public who want to delve deeper into heavy equipment-related work and those who use heavy equipment in carrying out their job responsibilities.
