Bandung Agustus 9th,2023 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), through its subsidiary PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN), which is part of a Consortium consisting of Sumitomo Corporation, EPN, and Hitachi Zosen Corporation, has successfully won the bidding process to establish a partnership in the Development of the Regional Legok Nangka Integrated Waste Processing and Final Disposal Facility (TPPAS). This project operates under the Government and Business Cooperation (KPBU) scheme, with a waste handling capacity of 2,000 tons daily.
Through this partnership program, Consortium and the West Java Provincial Government reaffirm their commitment to contribute to accelerating renewable energy utilization through Waste-to-Energy (PLTSa) facilities in Indonesia. The development of this power generation infrastructure is expected to proceed smoothly and provide benefits to all stakeholders and involved parties.
Director of Business Development of EPN, Achmad Rizal Roesindrawan, stated: “As a key pillar in advancing renewable energy within the UT Group’s efforts, EPN consistently strives to actively support the acceleration of renewable energy development and actively reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia.” In line with UT’s 2030 Sustainability Aspirations and the spirit of Moving as One, UT Group will continue to promote the implementation of sustainable business principles by incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects.
PT Energia Prima Nusantara’ s Overview
PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN) was established in 2014 and is a subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), which operates under the Astra Heavy Equipment Mining Construction & Energy (AHEMCE) business line. Since 2018 EPN has focused on developing new renewable energy (EBT). EPN incorporates a green energy business portfolio in rooftop solar photovoltaic distribution, installation, and mini-hydropower generation and will continue to develop other renewable energy.
EPN is accelerating the development of its business unit by installing Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PLTS) systems within the Astra Group and UT Group, where a pipeline of 89 MWp will be implemented until 2025. Through its subsidiary, PT Bina Pertiwi Energi, EPN is working on a construction project for the Besai Kemu PLTMH in Lampung with a capacity of 7 MW which is targeted to operate in the fourth quarter of 2023. In addition, EPN, through PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (an entity with an ownership stake of 31.49%), is actively operating Mini Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH) in various regions, including the Cikopo PLTMH in Garut with a capacity of 7.4 MW and PLTMH Tomasa in Central Sulawesi with a capacity of 10 MW. Arkora is also building two other PLTMHs, namely the Koro Yaentu PLTM, with a capacity of 10 MW, and the PLTMH Kukusan, with a capacity of 5.4 MW, which is expected to operate in 2024 and 2025.
