Consistently Implementing ESG, United Tractors Won the 2022 ASRRAT Award

Jakarta, December 7^th,2022 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) with the stock code UNTR, demonstrated its success in implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects at all levels of its business operations. This is demonstrated through the Gold Rank award at the 2022 Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) organized by the National Center for Sustainability Report (NCSR) at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (24/11).

Head of Corporate Governance and Sustainability Division, Sara K. Loebis emphasized that this award is concrete proof of UT’s contribution to supporting sustainable development in Indonesia. “In carrying out operational activities, UT is committed to continuing to deliver a positive impact on society. This award, further encourages us to strengthen the implementation of ESG holistically in the company’s business and operational activities to achieve sustainable growth,” said Sara K. Loebis.

In addition to implementing a holistic ESG, UT as a world-class heavy equipment distribution, mining, and energy company is also committed to always prioritizing business diversification and conducting a circular economy as part of sustainable practices to build a better future for  Indonesia and have a positive impact on society.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the NCSR Board of Trustees, Bambang Brojonegoro emphasized that the circular economy is one of the current business opportunities. The circular economy can be a stimulant for the local economy and create job opportunities in the community.

“Creating a circular economy is the business opportunity of our time. This strengthens the local economy inclusively and socially as the circular economy will drive 4.4 million net job creation by 2030, of which 75% of these jobs will be for women. Transitioning to circular economy practices will increase Indonesia’s GDP by IDR 593 – 638 trillion, equivalent to 2.3 – 2.5 percent of GDP in 2030,” said Bambang Brojonegoro.

The 2022 ASRRAT award assessment is based on the level of compliance of continuous reporting to GRI standards. In addition, three aspects are  the main concern of the company in the assessment process, which are the triple bottom line aspect (economic, social and environmental).

ASRRAT 2022 is an Asian-level ranking of sustainability reports given to companies that have successfully communicated sustainability performance to stakeholders through sustainability reports properly. The ASRRAT award has been running for 18 years and this year carries the theme “Pathway to Circular Economy” because it is believed to be quite relevant to companies’ efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In its implementation, the ASRRAT 2022 according to report was attended by 50 companies from various countries including Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Australia, and Russia.
