Consistently Implementing ESG, United Tractors Wins 2022 TrenAsia ESG Excellence Award

Jakarta, October 19 ^th,2022 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) won the 2022 TrenAsia ESG Excellence award for the Industrial Goods category. This award served as evidence Company’s high commitment to consistently implementing ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) in its business operations. The event was carried out in hybrid platform, taking place at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, and broadcasted online through TrenAsia Youtube channel.

“The purpose of holding this award is to appreciate companies that have implemented ESG through various programs, which are applied in order to realize the national mission of reducing carbon emissions in a sustainable manner.” said the President Director of PT Tren Media Berjejaring, Ashari Purwo.

The assessment indicators for this award were based on the Annual Report and Sustainability Report in the past year, focusing on the aspects of Sustainability and one of them is ESG. The sum of the accumulated ratings will determine the company’s rating. In this award, UT won the Action rating with an average score of 82.40 (Strong). This assessment is based on the results of the 2022 TrenAsia ESG Excellence jury team composed of Michael T. Tjoajadi, CEO of Schroders Indonesia, as chairman, M. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Mas Achmad Daniri, Expert Council of the National Committee on Governance Policy (KNKG), Edi Setijawan, Director of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Department of Research, Maria Rosaline Nindita Radyati, President Director of the Institute for Sustainability & Agility, and Adhitya Noviardi, Editor in Chief of TrenAsia.com.

​​The award selected more than 120 companies in 34 industrial sub-sectors with a judging process that took place from September 14 to October 12, 2022. The company’s ESG implementation is a portrait of sustainability and strong business fundamentals as significant influence or a determining factor regarding the investors demand and decisions. This is also in line with data compiled from TrenAsia which states that the growth trend of ESG investment has increased when calculated from 2016 to 2022. In 2016, ESG investment-managed funds were only IDR 16 billion and jumped 4900% to IDR 2.1 trillion in 2022.
