Consistently Creating Innovation for the Environment and Social Affairs, United Tractors Won the 2023 ENSIA Award

Presentation of awards was given by Sucofindo to Dicky Firmansyah (Branch Manager UT Semarang).

PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) strives to create sustainable innovation in environmental and social management. Due to its consistency, UT won the 2023 Environmental and Social Innovation Award (ENSIA), held at the Gumaya Hotel, Semarang, on (10/08/2023). This award is presented by Sucofindo to UT because it is considered a company that has succeeded in implementing balanced efficiency in environmental, economic, and social management

The categories UT achieved in this award were “Gold” in Reducing and Utilizing B3 Waste and “Platinum” in Water Efficiency. This award was given directly by Sucofindo representatives to Dicky Firmansyah (Branch Manager of UT Semarang).

Head of Corporate Governance and Sustainability Division, Sara K. Loebis, said that this award has further motivated UT to create innovations that have a positive impact in line with the UT 2030 Sustainability Aspiration. “UT would like to express its gratitude for the appreciation given by Sucofindo. “In the future, UT will continue to strive to carry out various environmental and social management innovations that align with the needs of the community around the Company’s operational area,” said Sara K. Loebis.

UT has carried out innovation in Reducing and Utilizing Hazardous Waste LIMB3R (Hazardous Waste for Environmentally Friendly Products). This program was initiated by UT in 2018 and has had a significant positive impact where UT carries out process modifications and material substitutions aimed at reducing the final generation of waste.

The B3 waste reduction program is carried out in production processes and supporting facilities. One of the programs implemented in the production process is BONIA Treatment: optimizing the aeration process and adding chlorine to Waste Water Treatment Plants (IPAL). Meanwhile, in the supporting facilities category, one of the programs being implemented is Oil Absorbent (ABSOL), a substitution of sawdust as a cleaning agent for oil spills. With all the programs, LIMB3R reduced B3 waste by 6.04 tons.

On the other hand, in the field of Water Efficiency, the innovation carried out by UT is entitled Airefficient-tastic. Gradually, this program has been implemented since 2020 and continues until now. The principles used in Airefficient-tastic are efficiency and water conservation, as well as preventing leaks in areas with high levels of water use. This program is implemented in various water consumption sectors, including offices, workshops, warehouses, prayer rooms, and public facilities.

One of the innovation programs carried out is Green Tap Water is intended to save water in sinks/hand-washing areas. The way to do this is to install a device that reduces the water flow from the tap. So that later, the water used, especially in office activities, can be reduced. The results of all programs running until 2022, Airfisien-tastes, saved 36,976.98 m³ of water usage.

The 2023 ENSIA Award is an award that is integrated with the Company Performance Rating assessment system in Environmental Management or PROPER carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). This makes the 2023 ENSIA Award even more credible in appreciating companies that have efficiently managed environmental and social aspects.

Through this award, UT will continue strengthening its commitment to consistently creating innovation by providing the best solutions for the environment and society and positively contributing to the company’s internal and external causes, hoping to generate sustainability for a better future.
