As a concrete step by the Company in protecting the environment through the implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, PT Komatsu Remanufacturing Asia (KRA) has successfully obtained a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) from PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for 4,600 units, which is equivalent to 4,600 Megawatt-hours (MWh) for the period January 2024 – December 2025. The expected reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from this REC totals approximately 3261.4 tonsCO2eq. This REC was handed over directly by the General Manager (GM) of PLN UID East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan (Kaltimra), Agung Murfidi, and Manager of PLN UP3 Balikpapan, Shofwan Juniardi, to the Director of KRA, Nasihin Anash at KRA Head Office, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (10/25/2024).
By obtaining this REC, the Company demonstrates its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and supporting the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy in the industrial sector. This move aligns with the Company’s commitment to supporting the use of green energy. The positive actions taken by KRA are hoped to inspire other businesses to support climate sustainability and the preservation of natural resources (SDA) for the benefit of the country’s future youth.
