Jakarta, August 31st,2023 – PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) and PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) have been awarded the 2023 TrenAsia ESG Award.This award proved the Company’s high commitment to consistently implementing ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) in its business operations. The award was presented by TrenAsia to Muliady Sutio (President Director of PT Agincourt Resources) and Ari Setiyawan (Investor Relations Head of UT) at the Ballroom of Raffles Jakarta Hotel.
Muliady Sutio said the TrenAsia ESG Award proves PTAR’s commitment to implementing responsible mining practices from an environmental, social, and good corporate governance perspective. This ESG implementation is part of PTAR’s contribution to supporting Indonesia’s sustainable and resilient infrastructure development.
“This award is not only a form of also motivates us recognition but to continue to apply the spirit of sustainability, which aligns with the Company’s values, namely GREAT (Growth, Respect, Excellence, Action, Transparency). We also hope that this award can inspire and trigger other mineral mining companies to adopt the best ESG practices to face climate change and continue to care for our beloved earth,” said Muliady Sutio.
PTAR successfully won the Mining Action category, while UT earned the Coal Action category award. The implementation done by the companies portrays sustainability and a robust business foundation, which can significantly influence shareholder demands and decisions. With the increasing coverage of ESG implementation regulations, such as the Global Reporting Index and OJK’s Green Taxonomy 1.0, ESG-based products have become a preferred choice for shareholders.
Sukirno Inno (CEO of TrenAsia) stated that this award is a form of appreciation for companies that have implemented ESG in creating growth and enhancing performance. “The TrenAsia ESG Award 2023 has been held twice to continue motivating companies to keep improving ESG implementation through various programs for creating a better Indonesia,” said Sukirno.
The assessment indicators for this award are based on the Annual Report and Sustainability Report in the past year, focusing on ESG aspects. Under the Environmental variable, the evaluation considers sustainable product and innovation, energy usage, waste management, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, and Natural Resource Management. Additionally, the social variable is assessed based on employee development, labor practices, product and customer responsibility, social and environmental impact, and OHS. Furthermore, the Governance variable is evaluated concerning shareholder rights protection, competence of the board of commissioners and directors, quality and transparency of information, sustainable management practices, and business ethics.
The judging panel for this award includes Edi Setijawan (Director of Non-Bank Financial Industry Development and Digital Financial Innovation Department of the Financial Services Authority), Shinta Widjaja Kamdani (Coordinating Vice Chairwoman III for Maritime, Investment and Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Adhitya Noviardi (Editor-in-Chief of TrenAsia), Maria Rosaline Nindita Radyati (President Director of the Institute for Sustainability and Agility), Michael T. Tjoajadi (Chief Executive Officer of Schroders Indonesia), and Mas Achmad Daniri (Expert Council of the National Governance Policy Committee).
