Commitment to Implementing Sustainable Business Practices, United Tractors Wins the 2022 ESG Disclosure Award

Jakarta, November 22th,2022 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) won the ESG Disclosure Award 2022 in October. The ESG Disclosure Award is an awarding event organized by Berita Satu Media Holding and Investor Magazine in collaboration with Bumi Global Karbon Foundation (BGKF), to give appreciation for business entities for implementing green economy and circular economy with three approaches (reuse, reduce, recycle). This award proves that UT continues to be consistent in carrying out sustainable business practices by implementing ESG principles in its business operations.

“The 2022 ESG Disclosure Award is an expression of our commitment to safeguarding the earth, as well as a proof of our seriousness in encouraging the business world to implement a green economy and circular economy which emphasizes three approaches, namely reuse, reduce and recycle through the application of ESG in daily activities.” said Primus Dorimulu, Editor in Chief of Investor Daily.

Currently, there are 810 issuers listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), of which 594 have submitted sustainability reports, and of these, BGKF has determined only 120 issuers are eligible for assessment, including UT. The scoring indicators for this award refer to 33 general standards as the basis for rating the ESG in the sustainability report. The assessment is also carried out based on leading capital market ESG factors, regulatory studies and international agreements, as well as reporting standards and guidelines that have been through an assurance process by Tuv Rheinland.

“ESG becomes three factors used to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of investment results in a business or company. By paying attention to the ESG, investment is encouraged to consider several environmental criteria, including the use of new and renewable energy sources, waste management programs, as well as efforts to deal with potential problems of water and air pollution.” said Laksmi D Animalthi, Director General of Climate Change Control at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
