Commemorating World Environment Day, United Tractors Holds “Enviro Run,” Demonstrating Voluntary Employee Participation in Planting 500 Trees

Jakarta, 28 June 2024—In commemorating World Environment Day, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) holds the Enviro Run 2024 and a tree-planting activity involving 500 trees to demonstrate voluntary employee commitment. Enviro Run 2024 is part of the Envirofest 2024, a program aimed at raising environmental awareness among UT Group employees through running activities.

This year, Enviro Run features a new concept that focuses on running activities and integrates environmental conservation efforts. Each participant who completes a three-kilometer run will contribute to planting two trees. Out of 250 participants who completed the run, 500 trees were collected for planting. Enviro Run took place at the UT Head Office in Jakarta.

The event continued with a symbolic tree-planting ceremony on the same day, conducted by UT Management and the UT Employees’ Union at the UT Forest Revegetation site on the slopes of Mount Arjuna in Batu City, Malang, East Java. This activity aims to conserve the environment and strengthen harmonious industrial relations between UT Management and the workers’ union.

In his speech, Human Capital & Sustainability Director Edhie Sarwono stated that UT undertook this activity to restore forests’ function and significantly reduce carbon emissions. This effort is part of UT’s initiative to implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects to prevent extreme climate change and create a sustainable environment.

“This event represents the synergy between UT Management and the UT EmployessUnion to strengthen harmonious industrial relations and foster voluntary employee engagement in environmental matters. Through this, we hope that employees can cultivate a sense of responsibility and care for the environment,” said Edhie Sarwono.

Enviro Run 2024 and the planting of 500 trees serve as concrete evidence of UT’s commitment to creating a healthy work environment and supporting global efforts to address climate change. UT aims to enhance health quality, increase productivity, and promote sustainable environmental conditions through these tangible actions.
