PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN), a subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), continues to support the transition to clean energy through the development of Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS) or solar panels. EPN is currently entrusted by PT DIC Astra Chemicals (DAC), a joint venture company between DIC Corporation (75%) and PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (25%), to install a Rooftop Solar Power Plant.

DAC adopts Rooftop Solar Power Plants to support the government’s program to reduce carbon emissions by implementing more environmentally friendly production processes. EPN assists DAC in realizing this commitment by installing a Rooftop Solar Power Plant with a total capacity of 372.78 kWp at the DAC Factory located in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta. The inauguration of this Rooftop Solar Power Plant is conducted directly by EPN’s Director of Supply Management & Procurement, Asep Iwan Gunawan, along with DAC’s President Director, Kyoichi Toyomura, and DAC’s Director, Baron Tanaka.

“The installation of solar panels at the Pulogadung factory is a tangible manifestation of DAC’s commitment to accelerating the utilization of renewable energy (EBT). We implement solar panels at DAC’s factory facility as a concrete step in using cleaner and more sustainable energy. This initiative aligns with our commitment to environmental sustainability and supports the company’s goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality,” says Baron Tanaka.

This Rooftop Solar Power Plant is also designed to supply significant energy needs from renewable and environmentally friendly sources, thus reducing the carbon footprint in operational activities. This initiative is part of the company’s implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

“We express our gratitude to DAC for entrusting this project to us. This Rooftop Solar Power Plant generates approximately 322,969 kWh of electricity annually from renewable energy sources, benefiting DAC and reducing up to 271 tons of CO2 emissions each year. This is equivalent to planting approximately 15,359 trees annually to maintain environmental balance,” says Asep Iwan Gunawan.

EPN hopes that the collaboration in installing solar panels at the DAC factory strengthens synergy and fosters positive collaboration within Astra Group’s value chain. Furthermore, through this project, EPN aims to maintain a harmonious relationship with the environment, ensuring a better future for Indonesia by increasing the country’s supply of sustainable renewable energy sources.
