UT School, an educational institution under PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), is pleased to announce the launch of its 23rd class for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic program. This new class signifies an expansion of the UT School’s educational offerings, which are already well-established across various regions in Indonesia. The introduction of this class reflects UT School’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the competencies of Indonesia’s youth, broadening its impact, and promoting advancements in the nation’s education system. The inauguration ceremony for the new class took place at the UT School facility in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara Province, on November 18, 2024.

Endang Tri Handajani, Chairwoman of YKBUT, stated that opening a new class in Sumbawa is essential in expanding access to quality education for the local community. UT School aims to significantly contribute to developing human resources in the heavy equipment industry through this initiative.

“We believe that quality education should be accessible to all. By opening a class in Sumbawa, we aim to produce graduates who can compete in the industry and contribute positively to their regions. Additionally, we hope that UT School’s intake of high school/vocational high school graduates will continue to increase in the coming years,” Endang explained.

The introduction of this new class for heavy equipment is aligned with the UT School’s commitment to supporting government initiatives aimed at fostering a connection between educational institutions and the industrial sector. Students participating in training at UT School will develop into skilled mechanics and heavy equipment operators, both of which are essential professions for the success of industries such as mining, agriculture, and construction.

A group of 237 vocational high school students from West Nusa Tenggara Province participated in the entrance selection process for the UT School at SMKN 1 Maluk in West Sumbawa. This selection included a series of psychological assessments and interviews. As a result of this rigorous process, 11 students have been chosen to join the national 36th batch for the basic mechanic courses program at UT School. These selected students will receive comprehensive training to enhance their knowledge and technical skills in heavy equipment mechanics.

The selected students must undergo a series of preparatory processes, beginning with a medical check-up at Tirta Medical Center, followed by a 10-day Mental and Attitude Development Program (Bintalsik) at the Military District Command (Kodim) 1628 in West Sumbawa. This training aims to develop resilient, disciplined, and industry-ready characters.

To provide quality training, UT School offers various support facilities. Professional instructors train students and have access to textbooks, cutaway machines, electric simulators, uniforms, and the personal protective equipment necessary for practical learning. The training program consists of two stages: three months of in-class training at UT School and eight months of on-the-job training at operational branches or job sites.

Upon completing the program, students will participate in a comprehensive evaluation process and certification examinations facilitated by the Heavy Equipment Professional Certification Institute of Indonesia (LSPABI). This initiative is part of the UT School’s commitment to ensuring that graduates possess the competencies to meet national and international industry standards.

The inauguration of the UT School Sumbawa took place on November 18, 2024. The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed individuals, including YKBUT Chairperson Endang Tri Handajani, UT School Director Mochamad Hamdan Aziz, the Acting Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Secretary, the Acting Regent of West Sumbawa, the Head of the Education and Culture Department, the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Department, as well as Dandim and local subdistrict heads. Additionally, distinguished guests from the AHEMCE group and other attendees contributed to the significance of the occasion.
