Consistently Implementing Energy Efficiency and Conservation, United Tractors Wins The 2024 ASEAN Energy Award 2024

Sara K. Loebis received the ASEAN Energy Award 2024 at the Grand Ballroom Landmark Mekong Riverside, Laos.

Vientiane, September 27, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) won the 2024 ASEAN Energy Award with the title of “Winner” in the Green Building category under the Large Building subcategory. This award proves the Company’s commitment to energy efficiency and conservation practices. The award was presented in person to UT’s Corporate Secretary, Sara K. Loebis, at the Grand Ballroom Landmark Mekong Riverside in Vientiane, Laos.

The ASEAN Energy Award is the highest accolade in Southeast Asia, and it was organized by the ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE). It is awarded to companies significantly contributing to energy efficiency and renewable energy development. In this case, UT was recognized for its outstanding energy performance, exemplary application of green building principles, and commitment to efficiently reducing energy needs while balancing conventional and renewable energy sources.

Sara K. Loebis mentioned that UT’s positive steps reflect the Company’s initiative to prioritize sustainability by implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects. “As part of the Company’s strategy to address global warming, UT has implemented sustainability principles in all business operations, including through the green building at UT Head Office by conducting energy efficiency, applying green building principles, and utilizing renewable energy. This aligns with the Company’s commitment to supporting the sustainability of its business. We hope this initiative can positively impact the environment,” said Sara K. Loebis.

The evaluation criteria for this award consist of several aspects, including the assessment of a paper that was selected at the national level, followed by a review by energy experts and green building specialists in ASEAN. Moreover, UT’s Green Building boasts several advantages that contributed to the Company winning this award, such as an energy efficiency index (EEI) of 70.78 kWh/m2/year, the use of high-efficiency air conditioners (High COP 4.19) with a value of 0.84 kW/TR, the installation of solar PV with a capacity of 160 kW, a green area of 44.31%, and a reduction in the heat island effect, which can decrease temperatures by up to 4.2°C.

This award can motivate the UT Group to continue innovating and investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy development to create a sustainable future in Indonesia and ASEAN.
