Bandar Lampung, August 24, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) demonstrates its commitment to enhancing vocational education quality in Indonesia. This time, UT actively participated in organizing the 2024 National Student Competency Competition (LKSN) for Vocational High Schools (SMK) in the field of Heavy Equipment Technology (TAB). The National Achievement Center organized the competition from August 19 to 24, 2024, in Lampung Province, and 44 participants from 22 provinces across Indonesia attended.
“This collaboration is carried out as UT’s commitment to implementing sustainable business practices by positively contributing to enhancing competence in the field of education. UT hopes this competition can create an excellent generation ready to compete in the business and industrial sectors,” said UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto.
UT’s participation in the 32nd LKSN is part of the company’s efforts to achieve sustainability through its education-focused CSR program (UTFUTURE) by implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. LKSN SMK is a prestigious competition as a platform for showcasing the skills of SMK students at the national level. In this competition, participants are tested on their abilities in heavy equipment technology, covering various aspects such as maintenance, repair, and operation of heavy equipment.
This year, the delegation from East Java Province, represented by two participants from SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kepanjen, won first place. The delegation from Central Java Province, represented by SMK Maarif NU 1 Sumpiuh, won second place, while the delegation from South Kalimantan Province, represented by SMKN 5 Banjarmasin, took third place.
The winners received medals, certificates, coaching funds, and educational scholarships from Astra Tech for the Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Technology for Heavy Equipment Maintenance (TRPAB) program, specifically for the first-place winner. In addition, all participants of the 2024 LKSN TAB also received Level 2 Basic Engine Mechanic competency certification, recognized by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) and issued by the Construction Service Center Region II Palembang, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia.
Through this collaboration, UT hopes to provide a platform to realize the creative ideas of SMK students, positively impact their achievement and competency improvement, and create highly competitive, innovative, and resilient human resources.
