Symbolic handover of aid by representatives of United Tractors, J-Trust Bank, and Komatsu Indonesia.

Tanah Datar, June 14, 2024—To quickly respond to the emergency disaster situation in West Sumatra, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) Group, J-Trust Bank, and Komatsu Indonesia (KI) Group provide humanitarian assistance. This initiative demonstrates UT’s commitment to implementing social responsibility in the field of disasters (UTACTION) to realize community welfare in the company’s operational areas.

“In distributing aid, UT collaborates with various parties to make it more efficient and effective. We thank KI, J-Trust Bank, and local governments who collaborated to distribute this aid. Through the assistance provided, UT hopes to ease the burden on the community and help the recovery process more quickly after a disaster,” UT CSR Manager Himawan Sutanto said.

The cold lava floods, flash floods, and landslides that occurred damaged public facilities and caused loss of life. Four districts were affected, including Agam Regency, Tanah Datar Regency, Padang Panjang Regency, and Padang Pariaman Regencyde.

UT and KI assisted in two stages. In the first stage, the assistance provided was procuring an excavator unit to normalize the river. Apart from that, UT, J-Trust Bank, and KI provide logistical needs, school needs, and psychosocial personnel from Putra Indonesia University, a university supported by UT’s Padang Branch. The handover of this aid was carried out symbolically by the Branch Manager of UT Padang Branch, Danny Suriatna, to the Regent of Tanah Datar Regency, Eka Putra.

The assistance provided in the second stage included packages of school uniforms, prayer equipment, stationery, boots, and gloves. In addition, UT and KI also assisted the Nagari Rambatan farmer group with eight hand tractors and machines. UT representatives symbolically handed this aid over to representatives of the Agriculture Service, Niko Aulia Amri, and Wali Nagari Rambatan Irzon.

The UT Groups that contributed to this program are PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), Komatsu Indonesia, Karya Bakti United Tractors Foundation, PT Kanitra Mitra Jayautama (KAMAJU), and the Koperasi Karyawan Kanitra (Kopkar).
