A symbolic handover of aid was conducted by Branch Manager of UT Padang Branch, Danny Suriatna to Tanah Datar Regency Regent, Eka Putra.

Tanah Datar, June 14, 2024 – As a response to the emergency disaster situation in West Sumatra, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) Group and Komatsu Indonesia (KI) Group have provided humanitarian assistance immediately on June 6, 2024. The cold lava floods, flash floods, and landslides have caused damage to public facilities and claimed lives. Four districts have been affected, including Agam Regency, Tanah Datar Regency, Padang Panjang Regency, and Padang Pariaman Regency.

The assistance provided by UT and KI Group include one excavator, logistics, school supplies, and psychosocial personnel from Universitas Putra Indonesia, a university fostered by UT Padang Branch. The symbolic handover of this assistance was carried out by UT Padang Branch Branch Manager, Danny Suriatna, to the Regent of Tanah Datar Regency, Eka Putra. This initiative is a manifestation of the company’s commitment to carrying out social responsibility and striving for the welfare of the community in the company’s operational areas.

“The activities carried out are a form of UT’s concern for the community in the vicinity of the company’s operational areas. UT hopes that through this assistance, it can help in the recovery process after the disaster. We will consistently continue to provide positive impacts for the community, in line with UT’s commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG),” said Himawan Sutanto.

In distributing the aid, UT and KI also collaborated with J-Trust Bank, which provided logistics assistance to the affected community. Through this initiative, UT Group will continue to be consistent in providing emergency disaster response assistance, as a form of the company’s sustainable contribution to creating added value for the community in Indonesia.
