The inauguration ceremony of the new UT School Semarang Branch building was held on National Education Day.
Semarang, May 2, 2024 – In celebration of National Education Day, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) through UT Karya Bakti Foundation (YKBUT), namely UT School, has officially inaugurated the new building and facilities of UT School Semarang Branch. This inauguration is one of UT and UT School’s steps to support the development of education and Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia. In its implementation, the inauguration was carried out by the Director of UT, Edhie Sarwono, and accompanied by the Director of UT School, Hamdan Aziz, and the Advisor of UT Binaan Schools (SOBAT), Wikan Sakarinto, which was located at UT School Semarang. In addition, this event was also attended by Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines).
“We will continue to consistently strive to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia by making real contributions. With the launch of this new class, UT School hopes to produce graduates who can compete in the industrial world and positively contribute to their regions. Additionally, we hope that the absorption rate of Senior High School or Vocational Student graduates by UT School in the following years will continue to increase,” said UT Director Edhie Sarwono.
By opening a new heavy equipment class, UT School supports the government’s policy of realizing a link and match between schools and the industrial world. Students who take training at UT School will later become mechanics and heavy equipment operators; these two professions support running industries and businesses that operate in various sectors, such as mining, plantations, and construction.
The inauguration was attended by several important guests representing the Dean of the Vocational School of Gadjah Mada University, the Dean of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Jenderal Soedirman University, as well as SOBAT teachers and students. The series of events was filled with performances by representatives of the SOBAT Semarang Branch, a ribbon cutting as a symbol of the inauguration of the new building, and the signing of inscriptions.
Through this inauguration, it is hoped that the UT Semarang Branch can become an educational institution that not only produces quality graduates but also allows the young generation to develop their potential in the technology industry.
As additional information, UT School was established in 2008 with the vision of becoming the world’s best mechanic and heavy equipment operator skills education institution. In 2024, UT School targets its branches to be more evenly distributed throughout Indonesia with the same facilities. The inauguration of the UT School Semarang Branch is also an effort to equalize the UT School program, which previously only had a special operator class program. Through this inauguration, the mechanic class program was added.
