Jakarta, February 18th, 2023 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) invited the younger generation to learn more about the Indonesian heavy equipment industry, particularly the contributions made by UT to the country and nation thus far. One of these outreach activities is collaborating with Brawijaya University (UB) to visit UT’s Head Office in East Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, on February 18th.

The program initiated by UT and the UB academic community was attended by 59 UB Faculty of Mechanical Engineering students. UT’s aim is that this program can help students get to know the industrial world earlier to prepare themselves optimally before entering the workforce.

Director of United Tractors, Edhie Sarwono, in his speech, emphasized that UT always strives to strengthen its commitment to always be open to the educational institution and to carry out various collaborations, which later can deliver a positive contribution to improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

“Industry visits conducted by UB students to UT have been designed in such a way as to help increase students’ knowledge. In the future, after this visit there will be further, more intensive collaboration related to mechanical engineering. This collaboration is essential since moving forward alone will have limitations. Collaboration will make it more effective and efficient, allowing it to have a broader positive impact on Indonesia in the future.,” said Edhie Sarwono.

During this visit, UT offered UB students information about the use of technology and digital innovation in the heavy equipment business. This is one of UT’s advantages in maximizing the quality of services and products for partners and customers. One of the digital innovations displayed is the UT Command Center as an operational control centre to ensure and improve customer satisfaction.

During this visit, students were invited to see first-hand the implementation of digitalization by UT by visiting the Command Center, which serves as an operational control centre to ensure and increase customer satisfaction.

In addition, UT also organizes seminars related to AED (Application Engineering Department) regarding AE support for UT business, product support (Parts & Service) regarding maintenance programs and heavy equipment life, innovation in the field of engineering (Electronic Control Unit Aspect), as well as explanations from UT Corporate University regarding development programs for technical and non-technical.

After gaining knowledge about the industry, UT invites UB students for an office tour, such as visiting the Aviary, UT School, Yard and Employee Center to gain insight into UT’s internal company.

These various activities are a form of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) implementation and efforts to create a link and match between world of education and industry. Through this activity, UT hopes to provide benefits for UB students today and in the future, so that they can develop sustainability for a better Indonesia.
