Cirebon, October 19th,2022 – MSMEs fostered by United Tractors (UT), Recycle Academy, won 2nd place at the National Appropriate Technology Innovation (TTG) competition. The award was handed over directly by the Minister of Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (PDTT), Abdul Hamid Iskandar, to Surani as the winning innovator. Recycle Academy created s-clay as an innovation for this event, which uses waste tire powder as a versatile clay mixture. Representatives from each province in Indonesia attended this event that took place from 18-21 October 2022 at the Aston Cirebon Hotel & Convention Center.

“This activity encourages extraordinary enthusiasm from all parties shown by the large number of participants from all over Indonesia who participated in the event. New innovations from this event are expected to provide benefits in accelerating the national economic recovery at the village level, as well as our efforts to increase human resources skill in the regions.” said the Minister of Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, Abdul Hamid Iskandar.

UT through its economic CSR program UTGROWTH (United Tractors for Generating Opportunities and Wealth) supports Surani from Recycle Academy and new innovators to positively contribute to the environment. With this development program for MSMEs, UT hopes to provide many opportunities to maximize their potential. This support shows the Company’s commitment in delivering positive contributions to economic sustainability of the communities around the Company’s operational areas through Environmental, Social, and Sustainability (ESG) implementation.

“In implementing a sustainable business, UT refers to Triple-P Roadmap, namely Portfolio, People, and Public Contribution. This MSME development is a concrete manifestation of our contribution to the community and society,” said UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto.

Recycle Academy is a fostered MSME that is engaged in recycling waste and turned it into high-value artwork. Through MSME Development, Recycle Academy not only has a positive impact on MSMEs, but also on the surrounding environment including reducing waste pollution, saving energy, preserving natural resources, and absorbing manpower. This innovation is in line with President Joko Widodo’s vision and mission to build Indonesia through appropriate technological innovations throughout Indonesia.

Besides the Minister of Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (PDTT), the Deputy Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum and the ranks of the West Java provincial government were also present. Other activities in this event were business meetings, MSME exhibitions, tour, workshops, and technical coordination meetings. With this activity, UT hopes that appropriate technological innovations would assist regions in Indonesia develop more rapidly toward the future.
